Global warming and climate change are hot issues that had caught serious attention among peoples across the globe. The threats to life, both human and other living creatures, had now become a primordial concern that has become a major agenda among leaders of the world. Development efforts are being negated by devastation brought about by natural phenomena that could hardly be mitigated by measures that fall short of the magnitude wrecked upon humans. We have reached alarming levels where people must be aware of such serious threats to life. The environment department had just culminated the month-long celebration dubbed as “Environment Month” whereby drumbeaters of environmentalists and earth savers advocates had taken a proactive role to harness people’s participation towards saving life.
Nurturing the environment so that the environment may nurture us is a noble purpose that people must be united for. This is a cause to rally behind if only to make a strong statement that we care for the place where we live. We cannot afford to ignore the degradation of our environment over the years and remain in deep slumber while nature is pushed to the brink of irreparable damage. We were given a good earth with all the things in it so that we may survive as well as the generations to come.
