DILG-8 urges LGUS to use LTS
TACLOBAN CITY – The regional office of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is encouraging all local government units (LGUs) in the region to adopt and implement the legislative tracking system (LTS) in their respective areas.
DILG 8 Regional Director Pedro Noval, in an interview with Leyte Samar Daily Express urged all LGUs, particularly the legislative body, in the region to make use of the LTS program in performing their legislative works.
The director said that only the provinces of Leyte and Northern Samar use the said program now.
“This program would help the legislative body in doing their legislative functions efficient and effective,” Noval said.
The official explained that DILG regional office 8 created the LTS program and coordinated it to the particular province or municipality, in order to fast tract the passage of their resolutions and ordinances.
“Through this program, the legislative body would be able to see all the resolutions and ordinances they crafted and let it be published online by using local area network (LAN),” he said.
Noval further said that the LTS program would not only provide satisfaction to the client of a certain LGU, it also ensures transparency on the legislations they have.
Moreover, the director said that those LGUs willing to avail of the program could send a request to their office. “After receiving their request, DILG 8 would send technical people for them to install said program,” he said. (REY GERILLA GRADO)
