Peace, Peace and Peace, how elusive can it be?
Since the dawn of man, conflicts that at times are bloody; quarrels and disagreement have been unwanted ingredients in humanity’s existence. There never has been a generation that enjoyed complete place. Wars erupt among nations and these are caused at times by greed and mindless acquisition of more territories to add to their lands, ideological beliefs and in several generations, these conflicts were even dubbed as Holy Wars, because of violent differences in religious beliefs so wars were waged between and among God-believing races against agnostics.
The speeches delivered by the guest speaker leaders from both from the local, national levels to include few other foreigners who joined the 20th of October 68th Leyte Landing Anniversary at Red Beach, Palo, Leyte, all dreamed of peace and prosperity in our times as the core value of their talks.
All these however will remain dreams and wishes for as long as our people do not work for peace individually in each inner sanctum of their beings. Individual Man has first to immerse his mind and heart into self – denial and a real detachment of worldly desires. Man should learn how to be contented with what life has provided him. Man should not dream of lording over others. All men should think and aspire only for the basics and simple lives and perchance by God’s grace they are given the mission to lead people there will be peace in that area and if replicated in higher planes like national and international realm there will be peace in the world.
Or are we just dreaming?
