Cong. FM leads LAKAS-CMD bets in filing their CoCs
TACLOBAN CITY – Leyte 1st District Congressman Ferdinand Martin “FM” Romualdez went personally to Sta. Fe, San Miguel and Palo, Leyte respectively to show support to candidates for mayor, vice mayor and councilors of said town under LAKAS-CMD Party.
Romualdez first went to Sta. Fe to raise the hands of incumbent Vice Mayor Oscar Monteza for mayor and incumbent Mayor Melchor Quemado who will run as vice mayor.
Completing the slate are Edgar Salceda, Eli Petilona, Marilyn Lantajo,Castor Engracial, Toto Jamora, Agnes Chuca, Bulaw Toreros, and Bong Echaque for councilor.
Cong. Romualdez then proceeded to San Miguel to accompany incumbent Mayor Prospero Brazil and incumbent Vice Mayor Richard Len Lapidario, who both seek reelection, in filing their certificate of candidacy at the Municipal Comelec Office.
Running for councilors are Protacio Brazil, Ruben Agner, Margarito Asis, Nona Gesma, Marissa Costa, Clarissa Laboga, Timoteo Mendiola, and Charlie Guy.
Last stop for Cong. Romualdez was the town of Palo where he endorsed the candidacy for mayor of former Mayor Teddy Sevilla and Raul Ilagan as vice-mayor.
This will be a return bout between Sevilla and incumbent Mayor Remedios “Matin” Petilla who is set to file her CoC today.
Accompanying Sevilla and Ilagan in filing their CoCs for councilor are Jun Estoya, Monching Montejo, Mabel Sevilla, Frank Acedillo, Raul Cayaco, Nonie Luna del Pilar, Antonino Hermit, and Rowe Budlong.
Cong. Romualdez enjoined the people of the 1st District of Leyte to throw their support to their candidates as he sees more infrastructure projects that would be implemented in the last three years of his incumbency as congressman of the first district.
“I’m proud to say that in my six years as Leyte’s representative, so much had been accomplished to benefit the people of the congressional district.” Romualdez said.
Romualdez said that practically all the barangays within his district had benefited from their projects like roads and bridges, and he hope to continue this in his last term as congressman. (MARVIN T. MODELO)
