Seal of goodness

Pressed to find the replacement best fit for the post left for good by the good secretary of the interior and local government Jesse Manalastas Robredo, Malacañan bared that P-noy is set to bare his choice soon. So many names have been floated even right after the remains of the good secretary Jesse M. Robredo was floated by volunteers from the great expanse of the ocean floor. By far, politicians from the ruling party of the President had been raised for consideration, those nominating and suggesting names had vouched the capability of their nominees to handle the portfolio left by their demised colleague and partymate.
Leaving legacies that had been institutionalized in his trailblazer performance as mayor of his beloved Naga City and as secretary of the DILG are tough acts to follow. Local governments were encouraged to practice good housekeeping by instilling a governance that is transparent and incorruptible. Awards were given to local governments that had met the exacting standards of the seal of good governance. The award was followed with another, the one which aimed to enhance disaster preparedness among local government units.
Such innovative approaches in local governance were replications of the things the good secretary did when he was the good mayor of Naga City. While the programs appear innovative insofar as local government units at all levels are concerned, the same had already been proved to be workable and doable. The award became continuing challenges for local officials to achieve good governance.
In the search for the successor, it is hoped that it would not be tougher than the search for the body of the good secretary in the deep blue see. More than competence and qualifications is the ability of the successor to fill the void left by Secretary Jesse M. Robredo, people are expecting one who can pursue the innovations for good governance in the straight path where, in the words of the President, was the trailblazer. The next secretary of the interior and local government must, above all else, bear the seal of goodness.
