PNP in EV celebrates 111th police service anniversary
PALO, Leyte - The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Eastern Visayas has celebrated the 111th police service anniversary last Thursday, August 16, with the theme: “Police nyo po sa tuwid na daan, serbisyong may pagkukusa, maasahan.”
Police Chief Supt. Elmer Soria, PNP regional office 8 director, said that the highlight of the affair was the awarding of the deserving PNP-8 personnel, units and government agencies who in one way or another helped PNP-8 achieved its missions in the fight against criminalities and in the maintenance of peace and order in the region.
PCSupt Soria disclosed that the individual awardees during the celebration were: Samar provincial police office director PSSupt Eusebio Mejos for best senior police commissioned officer (PCO) for administration; PSupt Avelino Doncillo for best PCO for operation; PCInsp Felipe Tan for best junior PCO; SPO2 Marissa Astorga Monge for best senior police non-commissioned officer (PNCO); PO3 Catherine Apuya for best PNCO; and NUP Russell Capahi for best non-uniformed personnel.
Soria also disclosed that the unit awardees were: Leyte police provincial office for best police provincial office; Tacloban City police office for best City police office; Eastern Samar provincial public safety company for best provincial public safety company; Tacloban City public safety company for best city public safety company; Borongan City police station for best component city police station; and Javier municipal police station for best municipal police station.
While special awards were given to Tacloban City local government unit and to Eastern Samar provincial environment natural resources office, Soria added. (RESTITUTO A. CAYUBIT)
