Sinebata 2012: Special Event for the youth
TACLOBAN CITY – The Plan Philippines and the Anak TV, with the other government agencies and private entities, will be having the Sinebata Media Festival 2012 on the 25th and 26th day of July, this city.
According to Regional Director Olivia Tiu, the Sinebata Media Festival is an activity that is for the children and the youth.“This is a good venue for the children to express their thoughts, issues, dreams, and concerns,” Dir. Olive Tiu said.
“Last year, we had the Youth Media festival exclusively for the Visayas only. This year, the organizers are making it nationwide,” she added.
“We have participants from the different provinces of Eastern Visayas. Also, entries coming from Cebu, Ilo-ilo and from the different regions in the country,” she emphasized.
Entries submitted were taken using digital and mobile cameras only. This media festival is for all the media. Some participants made short documentary, public service announcements, MTVs, and still photos, Tiu said.
In line with this, there will be screenings in the different areas in the city. Its premiere screening will be at the Robinson’s Place Movie World on the said dates. Participants will also get the chance to interact with some invited showbiz personalities like Boy Abunda, the Plan’s Ambassador for Children and youth Engagement Program, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, and young film makers during the event.
There will also be a public photo-viewing from the entries which will be displayed at the Robinson’s Place Annex Building, same dates.
The awarding of winners will be on the second day of the event, July 26 in the afternoon at the Robinson’s Place Tacloban Activity Area.
Supporting this special event are the agencies and institutions such as the Provincial Government of Leyte, Department of Education (DepEd), University of the Philippines-Tacloban (UP Tacloban), Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), Leyte Normal University (LNU), Philippine National Police (PNP), Baguio Museum, West Visayas State University (WVSU), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT), Aquinas University in Legaspi, Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Robinsons Malls and Columbias.
