GMA’s I-Witness kicks off Docufest Regional Tour

In celebration of its 13th year, GMA-7’s flagship documentary program I-Witness: The GMA Documentaries returns to the big screen! Catch GMA’s finest documentaries in a series of documentary festivals in key cities all around Visayas and Mindanao —a first in the regions.

From a community who risk their lives in search for gold, to the harrowing condition of burn patients in a hospital and to people who live around rail-road tracks facing an imminent demolition … these acclaimed documentaries bring to light important social issues reflecting our society.

This special event proudly kicks off in Queen City of the South— Cebu City on July 8, 2012 in SM Cinema Cebu.

Award-winning documentaries hosted by multi-awarded journalists Howie Severino, Kara David, Jay Taruc, and Sandra Aguinaldo will be screened during this one-day special event.

The first set of screenings featuring some of the program’s best episodes begins at 12 noon at SM City Cinema 7 with Kara David’s “Gintong Putik,” Sandra Aguinaldo’s “Batch 2012,” Jay Taruc’s “Batang Kalabaw,” and Howie Severino’s “Saplot.”

Award-winning I-Witness documentaries should not be missed on the second set of screenings which will start at 4 pm with Kara David’s “Ambulansyang de Paa,” Sandra Aguinaldo’s “Iskul ko No. 1,” Howie Severino’s “Huling Hala Bira!” and Jay Taruc’s “Lapnos.”

To share their experiences and filmmaking techniques with the audience, an open forum and DVD signing with all four hosts will follow after every screening.

The I-Witness Docufest regional tour will also be held in these areas: Iloilo , Davao , Naga, Iligan, Dagupan, and Bacolod . Admission is free.

Julie Anne San Jose gets heartbroken by Elmo Magalona

This Sunday, Julie Anne San Jose gets her heart broken in GMA’s newest youth-oriented drama, Together Forever.

Ely (Elmo Magalona) asks Toyang to be the bridge between him and his ultimate crush, Shirley (Lexi Fernandez). This breaks Toyang’s heart and Ely is oblivious of Toyang’s feelings towards him. Ely and Shirley will eventually get closer especially when Ely joins Shirley’s band.

Meanwhile, Jasmine (Janine Gutierrez) is still hurting over her break up with Ben (Benedict Campos). Although she doesn’t regret breaking up with him, she still feels bad that Ben can’t take care of her when she needs him the most.

One day, while at the grocery and thinking about Ben, Jasmine accidentally bumps a guy and spills his drink. The guy doesn’t accept Jasmine’s apology and he even scolded her. After a few days, Jasmine sees the guy again and she finds out that the guy owns a food stall at their grocery. To get back at the guy, Jasmine will do something to get even.

What will Jasmine do to get even to that guy? And who is this guy that keeps on bothering Jasmine? What will Toyang do now that Ely and Shirley are getting closer?
