Reason to Howl!

An Waray Representative Florencio “Bembem” Noel has all the reasons to howl, even raise hell when signage, tarpaulins, even Tanod outposts were removed sans prior notice from those who placed them. These signage were put up by grateful Barangay Chairmen of Tacloban for the projects they received from the party-list Congressman. Ms. Bernardita (a name for a young Bernarda) Valenzuela says that these acts of the city have long been overdue the Implementation of a DILG memo circular about tarpaulins and signage of this kind of politicians being banned in public places.

City Vice Mayor Arvin Antoni agreed that this DILG Circular should be implemented and urged barangay officials to strictly do it – “…hin bisan hin-o nga opisyal to include those of Mayor Alfred and wife Councilor Cristina, his cousins incumbent Congressman Martin and Phillip who intends to run for Governor in 2013. The Vice Mayor also urged Mayor Alfred to remove his pictures in licenses issued by his office and business permits to establishments. Rightly so!!!

Come to think of it. The removal of signage/tarpaulins of Congressman “Bembem” Noel is on the strength of an DILG Memorandum Order that bans names, portraits of politicians posted in public places. However those signage and tarpaulins were put up as a way of expressing their thanks and appreciation for several projects the An Waray Party List has done spread out in many barangays in Tacloban. These were put up by the barangay officials themselves.

Ok. But why is it that all those Romualdez portraits festooned around the city and even outside to include their lovely ladies beside them still there. Why single out Cong. Noel? Are they exempted? Or is there a feeling of insecurity permeating now into the inner sanctum of Mayor Alfred R’s being, because Bembem will challenge him in the next elections?

Of course these are merely fiesta greetings, they would justify. By the way which are more beneficial, Happy Fiesta greetings, or signage of thanks because of projects that benefit constituents?

Our suggestion to Mayor Alfred:

Festoon the city with a signage of information to the long suffering people of the Highly Urbanized City of Tacloban that will make them happy and therefore will rejoice!

An example: Rejoice Taclobanons!!! Our HUC will now have abundant water supply, because I have already approved the LMWD water project for Taclobanons. Signed: Hon. Alfred Romualdez City Mayor.

Then paste your pictures and that of KringKring and those of your handsome cousins Rep Martin, Phillip and their better haves around that signage. I assure you there will be jubilation all over.
