PDEA to celebrate IDADAIT on June 26
TACLOBAN CITY-The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency(PDEA) will celebrate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) on June 26, 2012.
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 264 issued on June 1, 1988, in support to the United Nations General Assembly Resolution signed on December 7, 1987, declaring that 26th day of June every year as “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”. In connection to this, the PDEA is conducting activities as part of the celebration for that day.
The official campaign for this celebration is “Kalusugan ay Kayamanan, Droga ay Iwasan” to give emphasis of the theme for this year which is “health”.
“The main target of this activity are the students most especially those who are from the Leyte National High School,” Lisa Baoy, information officer of said agency said.
Baoy said there will be a motorcade at 8:30 in the morning. There will also be a photo exhibit, then a program will be conducted at the Balyuan Center. On the same day, a film showing on the anti-drug advocacy will be presented. The resource speakers of the said activity are coming from their office and from Department of Health. A presentation will be performed coming from the partners of PDEA.
Moreover, in the afternoon, there will be an info blitz at the Petilla Hall of Leyte National High School, Baoy said. (REJANE P. HIERRO-LNU ABCOM INTERN)
