DA-8 hails visit of Sec. Alcala as successful

TACLOBAN CITY- The agriculture department in the region hailed the visit of Secretary Proceso Alcala as successful.

According to Francisco Rosaroso, chief of the information department, common concern were brought to the attention of Sec. Alcala like the fishermen in Biliran who were asking for educational assistance like scholarship to their children especially those in college.

Rosaroso also disclosed that other farmers had asked for machineries, support venture like planting of white corn and corn mill.

He added that Sec.Alcala was able to hold a dialogue with the farmer and fisher folks, coming over to inspect the agri-fisheries in Biliran and some in Eastern Samar.

The visit of the Secretary gave the farmers the chance to voice their concerns and problems.

On the scholarship, five slots were given to the fishermen from Biliran and the other support they were asking will be handed right away by the office through the help of other connecting offices of DA. (NIñA ANGELA U. ABOGA,LNU Intern)
