Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. opens in Brgy. Abucay its showroom for EV
TACLOBAN CITY – Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) has opened its first showroom in Eastern Visayas on Tuesday paving the way to maximize its reach in the regional market, which used to be a big contributor to the Cebu-based dealership.
HARI president and chief executive Ooficer Maria Fe Perez-Agudo said that Tacloban is their 45th showroom in the country and they are looking forward to open more depending on the market demand.
“We now fully covered all areas in the country. We will continue to expand anytime depending on the market demand,” Agudo told reporters.
The official claimed that the showroom in Brgy. Abucay will provide the best experience to buyers as they gear towards being the most beloved car brand in the Philippines apart from being globally competitive.
“We want to invite everyone to experience Hyundai and see our latest product like the Hyundai Eon and best selling models,” she added.
Edward Onglatco, president of Hyundai Cebu and Tacloban, said that Region 8 has been contributing 15% of their Cebu showroom’s average 100 car units sales monthly in the past three years. The best selling models in the region are Accent and Tucson.
“We have a big customer based here. We have been present for 10 years through our quarterly sales and service caravan,” Onglatco said.
Since the opening of Robinsons Place of Tacloban mid 2009, Hyundai has been displaying its products there but with the opening of showroom, Hyundai will still maintain its presence in the mall in a monthly basis.
“Right now, we want to have a separate dealership for the region because the demand has been increasing. We don’t want our costumers to wait. We want to serve them every day,” Onglatco added.
He claimed that they are bringing to the market the highest standard of service in terms of facilities and products. “We are bringing the best to satisfy our customers. It’s not about selling so many cars. It’s a matter of facilities and customer satisfaction rating.”
Onglatco said they are eyeing to open its first showroom in Dumaguete City and second showroom in Cagayan de Oro City within the year.
The P20 million Hyundai facilities in Tacloban features the new requirements as stipulated by Hyundai Motor Co. in Korea, in uniformity of standard dealer facilities, which gives emphasis to customer comfort, prestigious facade and interiors.
HARI celebrated last year its 10th year as the official distributor of Hyundai automobiles in the country. It rose to no. 3 in the Philippine automotive industry, thrice hailed as Hyundai’s Asia-Pacific Distributor of the Year (2005, 2006, and 2008), and Hyundai Global Distributor of the Year 2010 in less than a decade of its operations.
The firm’s best-selling vehicles are Grand Starex, Tucson, Santa Fe, Genesis Coupe, Getz, i10, Elantra, Accent, and Sonata. (SARWELL Q. MENIANO)
