TACLOBAN CITY – Transparency in terms of time and finances is what the new division superintendent of the Department of Education (DepEd) city schools division assured to her colleagues which she will be serving now.
Mariza Magan formally assumed her post on Thursday, replacing Ronelo Al Firmo.
Magan in an interview with Leyte Samar Daily Express assured the teaching force and the personnel that she will be transparent, including on aspsect of finance.
Being transparent as Magan stressed is important especially that she does not want allegations would be thrown to her administration.
Magan served as the sssistant division superintendent in Ormoc City. Magan, in her welcome message during the welcome ceremony, extended her thanks to DepEd Regional Director Luisa Bautista-Yu and Assistant Regional Director lawyer Alberto Escorbarte for their trust and confidence for recommending her to Education Secretary Armin Luistro for the said position.
“I will not fail you on this new designation. I do have my commitment to give the very best services on whatever assignment I have,” Magan said.
She articulated that with the support and full cooperation that would be extended by the Taclobanons, nothing is impossible.
“I strongly believed that each individual has to do their best in each simple ways,” the newly-designated division superintendent added.
“I know that we can create a good and harmonious working relationship that would guide us in attaining a good outcome that we aimed for,” she stressed.
The official, being new in her post, said that though there is no assurance that her life here would be easy, because she have to encounter many adjustments, still she believed that it will goes fine as the days come.
According to her, the warm welcome that the teaching force of Tacloban showed during the welcome ceremony signifies that they are always there to extend help for the benefit of the city division.
“It is not a question of whether is it easy or is it hard, the question that I am going to ask myself is that is this possible,” she said.
She further said that by God’s grace, her answer to her question would always be yes, especially if she does all things with faith and lots of patience.
Magan also stated that she can reach the height of her career if she put herself wholeheartedly in her assignment.
“Every task offers me a great opportunity to learn and grow and I really accept this new assignment with a nice and happy heart,” she pointed out.
Magan, on the other hand, thanked her colleagues from Ormoc city division, who accompanied her in going to Tacloban city division office.
“I know I’ll be missing working with you. But maybe someday I’ll be back to work with you once again,” she emphasized.
She likewise is happy and thankful that her husband is very supportive to her new post as well as to Almighty God for another blessing in her life.
“This is another challenge to me and God will not give this if He is not sure that I can do it. This is my calling, this is my vocation, and so be it. Happy working with you, people of Tacloban,” she ended. (REY GERILLA GRADO)
