AirPhil Express offers 2 more new flights in Tacloban airport

Air Philippines Corporation (Airphil Express, formerly known as Air Philippines) is a low-cost airline based in Pasay City. It operates extensive domestic scheduled services from Manila, Cebu, Davao, Zamboanga and now in Tacloban.
One flight daily from Tacloban to Manila at 9:45 in the morning and another one from Tacloban to Cebu.
During the AirPhil Express flight launching yesterday at the Daniel Z.Romualdez Airport, City Mayor Alfred Romualdez congratulated and thanked the staff and management of AirPhil Express for adding more flights to Tacloban.
Mayor Romualdez also asked the people in the city and in the whole region to continue patronizing and supporting AirPhil Express.
The city mayor was invited during the ribbon cutting of the new AirPhil Express ticketing office at the Tacloban DZR Airport.
AirPhil Express Senior Vice President for marketing and sales, Alfred Herrera, also encouraged the public to take advantage of their weekly promos for domestic flights.
He also announced that AirPhil Express, being the fastest growing budget airline, is now having another pioneering offer, the 20% student discount on all published fare for domestic routes, including selected promotional fares.
Airphil Express is the first airline to grant the privilege to students who mst be currently enrolled. Student travelers who want to avail of the 20% discount ar required to present a valid school ID or registration form upon ticket purchase at selected Airphil Express offices. Post-graduate students may also benefit from the student discount program.
“We want to highlight passion for travel, and students are the ones who best exemplify the spirit of adventure and curiosity about life,” explained Herrera.
“That’s the reason why we decided to give them discounted rates on top of our already affordable airfare,” he added.
Young people nowadays are more open and curious about exploring their surroundings virtually through the Internet, and geographically in world-class destinations with family and friends. The dawn of the budget airline era has enabled more people to start traveling at an early age, the reason why many young people today are better informed about leisure and travel opportunities.
They are also quite savvy when it comes to social networking, which helps to direct them to the best deals available.
Some awards and citations that AirPhil Express got include the “Most Outstanding Domestic Airline” four times by the Consumers Union of the Philippines and numerous other regional awards.
Also present during the flight launching were AirPhil Express Chief Executive Adviser Brian Thomas Hogan, Roland Salaver -AVP of the Airport Services, Philip Fajatin-Manager for sales Services and City Administrator Roberto Muñoz.
