PESO, DOLE to host May 1 jobs fair
TACLOBAN CITY – The Tacloban Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be hosting a one day jobs fair activity at the Tacloban City Convention Center on May 1. This activity is also known as Jobs Fair 2011.
This matter was revealed by the PESO in-charge of office, Felisa Cagara, during an interview with Leyte Samar Daily Express.
According to Cagara, the said activity will be one of the highlights that will be done in the region that coincides to the Labor Day commemoration.
“This activity intends to cater job opportunities to those graduates in the region who do not yet have their own source of income or job,” Cagara said.
The official disclosed that all applicants coming from the other nearby municipalities will also be entertained in the said jobs fair since this activity is done to cater to individuals from the region who are looking for work.
Moreover, Cagara said that since the city has its own PESO Office, they were given their own booth wherein Taclobanons can apply for any position that suits for the qualifications they possess.
“The applicants will be able to apply both local and overseas positions,” the officer-in-charge added.
Cagara also said that the activity will start as early as 8:00 in the morning and would end up at 4:00 in the afternoon. She added that they would have possible extension in order to accommodate all the applicants who will be attending the said event.
Furthermore, the official encouraged interested applicants to bring along with them necessary credential that they need for application purposes.
“I also wanted everyone to do their pre-registration on the Philjobnet.com,” Cagara ended. (REY GERILLA GRADO)
